翡翠水庫可謂第一座國人自行設計且施工的大型拱壩，擁有供水、發電、防洪等多目的營運功能
總蓄水量為臺灣排名第二
Feitsui Reservoir is the first large-scale arch dam in Taiwan that was independently designed and constructed by local engineers. It serves multiple functions, including water supply, hydroelectric power generation, and flood control. In terms of total storage capacity, it ranks as the second-largest reservoir in Taiwan.
翡翠水庫主要構造包括大壩、操作大樓、電廠、溢洪道、河道放水口、沖刷道、排洪隧道、副壩、落水池及靜水池等設施，供民生用水及附帶發電與防洪調節。
The main structures of Feitsui Reservoir include the main dam, operation building, power plant, spillway, river outlet, sluiceway, flood discharge tunnel, auxiliary dam, plunge pool, and stilling basin. These facilities serve domestic water supply, hydroelectric power generation, and flood regulation.
